My career has been about leveling the playing field for disadvantaged people. Prior to Business Access, I was the Executive Director of the Dallas Mayor’s Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities, founder of the U.S. President’s Committee Business Leadership Network Dallas, consultant to Fortune 500 companies on diversity employment, and a representative of Fortune 500 companies in the development of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

My goal is to help others see joy and opportunity in their lives, so that they can find their own bliss and pass it on to those around them. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities, people and love I’ve experienced. I care deeply about people and feel strongly that we are all interdependent. When there are people hurting, it reflects on us all.

Running Business Access is my dream job at my dream company – literally. Every day I see us helping people advance into new versions of themselves. I see our employees evolve into strong, passionate and innovative individuals while they’re battling to find solutions to our company’s challenges. It is a one of a kind experience to be a social entrepreneur. I cherish it, and I take every opportunity I get to encourage others to pursue it.

All of my working life, I’ve been creating things. The tools, resources and demands have changed, but in the end it’s always been about how to build what we want with what we have around us. Prior to Business Access, I managed operations for a specialty computer hardware manufacturer that supported the ever-changing technological needs of customers such as the military, major media outlets and hospitals. Prior to that, I designed custom manufacturing runs for a packaging company. My earliest work experience was with my father, who taught me just how hard (and rewarding) it was to be an entrepreneur.

I’m obsessed with how things work - what’s behind what you see and how it does what it does. I admit that I’m the ultimate uber geek. I look at the world as an equation. If it’s a system, I can figure it out. If it’s people, there will always be unknowns. But, I’m thrilled with the unknown variables because they push things beyond my comfort zone into the realm of innovation. And as a human, I’m willing to give it everything I have because what we’re building is changing people’s lives and through that - changing the world.

We’ve created an environment that is all about encouraging people to think beyond what they know and support their growth in a fast-changing world. Our company gets to use our powers to help others achieve their goals. For me, it’s an opportunity to give back to the world as much (or more – I hope) than it has given me. The fact that we can do all this with technology at its core is the ultimate gift. Our only limitations are what we haven’t thought of... yet!
